It has been a busy couple of weeks for the Our Lincolnshire project on social media. Having launched on twitter and Instagram just over a fortnight ago, we’ve received lots of fantastic photos of from across the county via the hashtag #OurLincolnshire. With this is mind we’d love to share a selection of our favourites with you:
@robhewis‘s pen and ink illustration of the White Hart Hotel in Lincoln was one of the first submissions we had via Instagram, and we were thrilled to receive it! The use of tone and perspective in this image is wonderful, and really brings out the beauty of this 14th century building.
@_jill_m_ submitted this lovely photograph of a herd of sheep grazing in a Lincolnshire field. Sheep farming and the wool trade have brought wealth to Lincoln since the Middle Ages. Indeed, the Corby Glen sheep fair has been held annually since 1238!
Ok, ok – this is one of ours. But we just loved looking out at the wind turbines on Skegness sea front at the start of this week, and could resist a quick snap! Check out more of Our Lincolnshire’s photographs here.
This beautiful sunrise photograph by @paulhollowaylincs took our breath away, It was taken down at Tallington Lakes in Stamford, where there are loads of great outdoor leisure activities on offer. We certainly wouldn’t mind paddling out into this scenery!
@matthewliam1987 sent us this wonderful and dramatic photograph of the Boston Stump. We love how moody it looks in monochrome! There are lots of other great snaps from around Lincolnshire on @matthewliam1987’s Instagram – check them out!
We hope you’ve enjoyed our top picks – please feel free to leave any comments below!
And remember, if you would like your images of Lincolnshire to be featured on the project and across our social media platforms, just use the hashtag #OurLincolnshire in your captions, or email your photographs to acruse@lincoln.ac.uk.
